Why I Use Ammonia-Free Professional Hair Color
Because I’m highly sensitive to odors and air-born toxins, I only work with ammonia-free professional hair color. Over the years, I’ve tried a number of different ammonia-free professional color lines that claim to be “organic” or “all natural.” After careful cross examination of ingredients from “organic” brands around the world, I have learned that the organic and natural ingredients added to professional hair color are not the ingredients that are doing the work of coloring hair. They are simply additives to draw consumer attention away from the chemical ingredients (which are numerous and mostly all the same). Salon-ready professional hair color relies heavily on chemicals and synthetics to meet consumer expectations for fast acting, permanent hair color in neutral tones, with little regard for long term health risks to people or the environmental. After much research, product testing, and ingredient analysis, I have settled on a professional color line that is better than most, and meets or exceeds my clients’ hair color expectations.
